On the 2nd of June one of our Minor players, Shane Young and nine other students from St. Paul’s College, Raheny volunteered in a town in Kenya called Kamulu for 16 days. During the 16 days in Kamulu the boys taught the students in DePaul school Maths, English, Creative Arts, Computers and much more. The boys also played a lot of activities with the students and teachers such as Soccer, Basketball, Rounders, Racing, Tag and Duck Duck Goose.
The boys also went on home visits to see where some of the children live. The club were happy to donate some of our old jerseys to the local villagers.
The overall experience was amazing and opened everyone’s eyes and helped them appreciate everything in life.
Some lovely photos from the experience below. Well done Shane and all the volunteers who made the trip.
