Statement
STATEMENT FROM CLONTARF GAA CLUB REGARDING RECENT VANDALISM IN ST. ANNE’S PARK
Clontarf GAA has long advocated for the provision of additional facilities in St. Anne's Park, ranging from an urgent requirement to improve pitches to the provision of toilets and changing facilities within the park. The club is acutely conscious of the significant inconvenience faced by members and by visiting teams in not having ready access to toilet facilities located in close proximity to playing pitches.
In that regard, Clontarf GAA welcomed the recent provision of additional toilet facilities which were intended to address this issue in the short term. The club condemns in the strongest possible terms, the wanton and mindless vandalism which has resulted in significant damage to the toilets.
In our ongoing efforts to address key priorities such as improved pitches and the availability of toilet facilities, Clontarf GAA is open to working with Dublin City Council on both the type and location of toilet facilities in St. Anne's. Clearly, a more robust solution is required.
AGM 2025 and Lookback Video 2025 (part 1)
The 2025 AGM was held in the Clubhouse Hall on Thursday 23rd October. The incoming executive for 2026 was voted on and motions as proposed were approved.
We also had a changing of the guard as former Club Chairs Ollie Mangan and Kevin Hoy stepped back from the executive after countless years of dedicated service. The Chair and President both acknowledged their work and thanked them sincerely for their services to the club, noting how much and how well the club had grown and progressed during their time on the executive.
After the motions and agenda items, Club President Pat O’Brien gave us a few words.
At the beginning of the evening we enjoyed a video lookback on 2025, another very successful year for the club. That video is below if you would like to watch it now. If you would like to share it, just copy this link: https://vimeo.com/1130281484. Note, this is Part 1, mainly focussing on Adult Games and Social activities. Part 2 will be later in the year when all the juvenile activities are complete.
🏆 County Champions! 🏆
Congratulations to our second Hurling Team who won the Junior C Hurling Championship Final this morning in a scorcher of a game with near neighbours Naomh Barróg. It was tight and competitive all the way, but Clontarf managed to pull away in the last quarter to seal a well earned and deserved victory. Both teams head up to Junior B next year so good news all around. Well done lads and enjoy the celebrations.

Clontarf GAA Corporate Lunch 10th October 2025
What a fantastic day we had today at GAA headquarters in Croke Park. Thanks to all who attended, bought raffle tickets and purchased items in the auction. Huge congratulations to the organising committee. A superb day for the club. Some magnificent shots below from Pat Walsh.
Oisín Hoy RIP.
It was with a sense of deep shock that we learned of the tragic and all too early death of Oisin Hoy, son of Kevin and Mary. The Hoys are a real club family: Kevin is currently vice-chair and Mary is an active committee member in the club and Oisin's brother and sisters, Peter, Niamh and Caoimhe have all played for Clontarf.
Oisin was a long standing member of the club having played all the way through the juvenile ranks in hurling and football and into the world of adult football. He is remembered by all who played with him or coached him as a hugely positive person. He always presented with a smile and made a significant contribution to any team he played with.
Oisin, however, was more than a footballer. He was an inveterate traveller with a deep interest in other countries, cultures and, above all, in people. This interest in travelling took him to all arts and parts of the world in recent years, most recently to South America. It was there, in Bolivia, that the fatal car crash occurred.
There is little that we can say to Kevin, Mary and the rest of the Hoy family at this tragic time other than to note that we will always remember Oisin as one who brought joy, warmth and happiness to any conversation.
