All Stars
Clontarf GAA All Stars started in October 2018 with representatives from the Club Executive, parents, SNA’s, mentors, the Healthy Club Officer, the Club PRO and adult volunteers. Our All Star players are children with additional needs between the ages of 6 and 15 who do not wish or are unable to participate in mainstream GAA teams.
Our first session was on March 1st 2019 with 6 players. We now have 17 players and all of our players have developed so much across all of the key areas identified in our goals.
Our sessions are run by our Club GPO and Nursery Co-Ordinator with the assistance of young coaches from the club, along with some senior players. We also have some adult volunteers with experience working with children with additional needs and from a medical background. At every session each player is assigned a young coach to assist their participation in the session and to have fun.
Our aim for Clontarf All Stars is to develop and build confidence, self esteem, balance, coordination and social skills while having fun. Most importantly we want our players to have a sense of belonging to a team, The Clontarf All Stars.
Our team is supported by the GAA, DCC, and we are grateful to local businesses for sponsorship.
