As part of our Healthy Club Initiative the club caters for those who moved from midfield to full back and finally to retirement. Many of our members partake in the Social Sports activities during the week. We have Social Gaelic Football, Gaelic for Mothers & Others (G4MO), Social Hurling and Social Football. Non club members are welcome to join and club social membership costs just €65 per year.
All who take part are required to complete the disclaimer below.
social GAElic football
Social GAA Football takes place every Tuesday throughout the year from 9.00-10:00pm on the clubhouse Astro. The rules follow the standard rules of Social GAA, i.e 1 hop + 1 solo, no contact and a variety of conditioned games. From time to time the group participates in inter-club challenges where we get out on a grass pitch for a full sized game.
Social Gaelic Football is a fantastic way to get back into a sport that you may have played a long long time ago but would like to try it out again. We cater for all spectrums of ability and everyone is always very welcome. To join please contact Peter Woods on 087-3200881.
Social Hurling
Calling all ex-hurlers, retired hurlers, hurlers on sabbatical to concentrate on football or those returning to hurling from injury, social hurling takes place on the astro each Wednesday from 9.10-10pm. Bring your own hurley and helmet. Social hurling will be a competitive match between those who turn up but rules will be slightly amended to cater for all ages and levels of fitness/unfitness!
Contact Noel Wardick (noelwardick@yahoo.com) for more information.
