Music Classes for Children
McDermott Music offers pre-instrumental music classes for children aged 4 to 7, providing a fun, creative, and inclusive introduction to music and music-making. In a nurturing environment, children explore the fundamentals of music through singing, movement, and engaging musical games.
Inspired by the renowned teachings of Zoltán Kodály and Émile Jaques-Dalcroze, our program emphasizes vocal and aural development, fostering a deep love of music while building essential skills.
Classes take place weekly in Clontarf GAA Hall on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
Upon completing this two-year pre-instrumental program, children are automatically enrolled in the award-winning Clontarf Children’s Choir. This mixed choir welcomes children aged 7–12 from primary schools across Clontarf and rehearses on Mondays at 2:20 PM.
Join us to nurture your child’s musical journey and ignite a lifelong passion for music!
