Healthy Club
Clontarf GAA Club has been part of the GAA Irish Life Healthy Club Project since 2021. The project aims to support our members and our community in building healthy practices in our everyday lives and activities.
We aim to become a hub for health within our community and ensure that everyone who engages with our club benefits from the experience in a health-enhancing way - players, officers, coaches, parents, supporters and members of our local Clontarf community.
We carried out a survey to get views of people within the club and the local community on how the club contributes to their overall wellbeing, and what priority areas they would like to see within our Healthy Club programme. Priority areas were identified as Mental Fitness and Social Inclusion, both key areas within our overall Healthy Club programme.
All programmes are detailed below along with links to key initiatives.
Mental Fitness
Supporting the emotional wellbeing of our members and the local community is a priority of our Healthy Club programme. Members are encouraged to keep on top of their mental fitness by connecting with the club and accessing support services when life throws up those inevitable challenges.

Diversity & Inclusion
Another priority for Clontarf GAA as a Healthy Club is offering an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming environment for everyone. As an inclusive club, we aim to offer a sense of belonging to all.
Our main diversity and inclusion initiatives include:
Recently we published a short video highlighting the great work done by the team here in Clontarf GAA and the wider community.

Meitheal aimed at older or retired members of the community who take responsibility for tasks that benefit the club and community and arrange social events.
Volunteering across a range of activities aimed at supporting vulnerable community members.
First Aid and CPR Training
