Boys' Division 1 Féile Final - Sunday 7th May 2023 in Parnell Park.

Hard luck to our U15 lads who lost the Division 1 Football Féile Final on Sunday in Parnell Park. There was great support in the stands but unfortunately the win evaded them on this occasion.

Huge credit is due all the same to the team of players and mentors who made it all the way through the qualification rounds and knock-outs to get all the way to the Final. No mean feat at Division 1 level, so well done one and all, the club is really proud of you! No doubt you will now take this achievement and build on it for the rest of your U15 year and beyond.

A fantastic selection of photos below thanks to William Kinsman and Matt Porter. Thanks also to Team Sponsor REA Grimes for their ongoing support of the U15 Boys and thanks to Integrity Security who sponsored the Féile tops for the team.

A little bit of Clontarf in Slovakia!

Two of our Minor Players, Katie Morrissey and Mairead Hanratty, and one of our Minor Mentors, Julie Morrissey, went to Slovakia recently as part of Community Care for the girls’ Transition Year.

Katie’s Aunt (Julie’s sister, a Presentation Sister) Sr. Anne NcNamara is the Director of Nano Nagle Ministry Services & she has worked with the Roma since 2005 in Spišské Podhradie, Slovakia. It serves the local Roma population of over 100 people. 24 Roma children attend the pre-school daily which she runs.

Katie & Mairead worked in the preschool for the week. Anne collects the children from the Roma settlement each morning which the girls assisted with.

The children were delighted to get the Clontarf jerseys. The donation was very much appreciated. Huge thanks to Jude Hanratty & Donal Nolan for organising them.

The girls along with Katie’s cousin Daniel also visited the Ukrainian border where they saw the UNHCR tents which is the UN Refugee Agency. It is the global organisation dedicated to saving lives and protecting the rights of refugees and forcibly displaced communities like the Ukrainians.

See below for a selection of photos from the trip. Well done girls!

Launch of the Patrons of Clontarf GAA initiative

Today we are delighted to launch the “Patrons of Clontarf GAA” initiative. This is a new annual programme open to individuals, families and businesses. We are looking for a donation of €1,000 per year of participation. All donations will go towards the resourcing of the club as we aim to create the best possible experience for all our members.

BENEFITS OF THE PROGRAMME:

  • Patrons will be formally recognised by the display of a list of Patrons in a prominent area in the clubhouse as well as on a dedicated page on the club website.

  • Patrons will receive a “Patron of Clontarf GAA” window sticker and Business Patrons will receive a certificate for display in their premises.

  • They will also be entitled to publicise their membership of the programme on their social media platforms and website.

  • Patrons will be invited to attend the Sponsors night which is an annual night of appreciation which provides an excellent opportunity for sponsors and business owners to raise their profiles with each other and club members.

  • When Dublin qualify for any of the senior inter-county All Ireland Finals (football, hurling and camogie) and the club accordingly receives a ticket allocation all paid up Patrons will be included in a Patron and Sponsor only raffle for two tickets for each final.

We propose to maintain an annual register of Patrons so that future generations will have a real sense of connection with the many people who support the club and who continue to build on the foundations laid by past generations. If you are ready to sign up and become a patron you can click below or if you have any queries please contact Jude Hanratty our club administrator at administrator.clontarf.dublin@gaa.ie or by phone at 01 8530454.
