A great weekend for Adult Football. On Sat the Seniors produced a sparkling performance away to Whitehall CC (1-8,3-10). This important win will ease but not erase any relegation playoff fears. Over the past 4 years Clontarf have held the upperhand over their near neighbours and despite a dip in form over the summer, Clontarf were always comfortable in this clash.(Paddy Delaney in action for the Seniors).

A rising tide lifts all ships and on Sunday the Junior A's came out on the right side of a close encounter as they defeated Ballyfermot (2-8,2-6).(Alan Costello in action for the Junior A's). - Read the match report)

Not a bright week for results with all 3 Adult teams losing league games. On Tue, the Seniors fell to O'Tooles on pitch 34 by 6pts having left it too late in the game to perform to the level of recent good wins. On Wed, the Junior A's lost by yet another narrow margin (2 pts)  to Bank Of Ireland. On Thur the Junior B's turned in an error ridden 1st half at soggy St. Annes Pk to trail by 9 at the break. On the resumption Clontarf tagged on 5 unanswered pts before a Peregrines goal killed the game as a contest. All 3 teams are back in action this weekend.
Ladies reach Championship Final - Tuesday, June 27, 2006
Well done to our ladies team who won their Championship semi-final match against St Marks on Monday night . The game was a very competitive championship match in which the girls twice came from behind to clinch victory. The scores were level at the interval and not long after the restart St Marks scored a point and a goal putting them in the driving seat. Midway through the second half Marks were 5 points ahead but the ambition and spirit of the Clontarf team came to the fore in the last 15 mins and a great goal followed by some excellent points turned the game for the home side.Clontarf had turned a 5 point deficit into a 3 point lead with some great tenacious defending throughout the match and in paticular the last few minutes. Great running and continued attacking of the forwards saw the team secure their place in the Intermediate final. Well done to the entire squad on a fine performance. Clontarf are now 60 mins away from achieveing Senior status and the final is set for Parnell Park friday 21 July.

Adult Football Roundup - Sunday, May 21, 2006
A fantastic week for the Seniors that saw them top the table with back to back impressive wins over Ballinteer and Naomh Barrog. With 5 league games played, they have 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. The Junior A's continued their good cup form with a hard fought win over Margarets on Wed, with the returning Dave Duignan getting the vital goal. On a miserable Sunday morning, despite a strong 2nd half league performance, they failed to haul back Ballyboden who ran out 2-11,2-7 winners. The B's had a fine win over Garristown with Kevin Monaghan scoring an impressive 3-2 from play. The B's league game V Isles on Sun was rained off

Midweek Roundup - Wednesday, April 26, 2006
The Ladies stole the show this week with back to back wins in their 1st appearance in the Intermediate Championship. Seniors defeated by St. Brigids - Wednesday, April 12, 2006
Clontarf followed up their opening league win with a 6pt loss on Tue to St. Brigids B in Russell Pk. Injuries continue to deplete the squad and the loss of Ger Ryan at the start of the 2nd half didn't help matters. Clontarf started the game the brighter, but it was Brigids who led at the break (1-3,0-3). Clontarf could have led at the break, but for a tally of 7 wides and a Daragh O'Brien goal opportunity that rebounded off the crossbar. Brigids upped the tempo for the 2nd half and 3 quick unanswered pts within 2 mins opened a gap that Clontarf never recovered from. The Brigids 2nd goal put them 10pts ahead. A Shane McIntyre free with 10mins to go opened Clontarf's account and sparked a late revival that saw Clontarf post 5 unanswered pts, including 2 fine scores from Cathal Carr and Shane Dunlea. Final score, St. Brigids 2-8, Clontarf 0-8
