Match report Sept 8th

Clontarf 1-11 Whitehall 0-12

Sat 8th Sept

Clontarf swept into a convincing lead of 0-7 to 0-1 within the first 20 minutes but allowed whitehall to get back into the game through a period of casual play. Whitehall brought the score back to 0-7 to 0-5 and threatened to come closer. However Clontarf managed to extend the lead to 4 points at
half time.

Whitehall began the second half scoring the first two points and the game was fairly evenly contested thereafter. Clontarf were far the better footballing team on the day, but we did not make good use of the ball. While we retained alot of possession, and handling of the ball was excellent all over the park, the ball was moved very slowly from the back and players were regularly caught in possession as Whitehall chased the game. Clontarf need to move the ball faster out of defense while retaining possession if they
are to continue to progress.
