Junior B League (AFL 9) – Thur. 23rd August 2007

Park Rangers 2-7 V Clontarf 2-7

“B's battle it out for a draw”

Clontarf's Junior B footballers travelled to play Park Rangers in this midweek clash. Missing as many as 8 first choice players, Clontarf turned in an impressive 1st half to lead by 2pts at the interval. Johnny O'Connell got the vital goal of the half as he flicked the ball to the net in the same way Graham Geraghty did for Meath against Tyrone this season.

Rangers started the 2nd half the better outfit and 2 quick goals gave them a commanding 4pt lead. Manager Willie introduced super sub and brother Tommy and he made an vital impact with a well finished goal. Tommy went on to add a further 2 pts and Clontarf looks set to take the points. But Park Rangers battled till the end and drew level in the final minute (2-7,2-7).

There was much to admire from this Tarf performance, with excellent performances from full back Ultan Kennedy, Aidan O'Halloran, Johnny O'Connor and Macker up front. Niall O'Reilly was in top freetaking form as he fired over 3 excellent free off the deck
