Senior – On Wed lost at home to Ballinteer St. John and on Sat lost at away in another close league game to St. Marys Saggart. Clontarf played well against St. Marys but lack a little composure in front of the post in the final quarter.
Junior Football – Another fine week for Junior Football with 4 wins and just 1 narrow loss.
Junior A’s sit proudly atop Div 6 after 2 excellent league wins till week, despite a high number of injuries and players away. On Tue, the A’s travelled to Ballyfermot and came away with a super 2 point win. On Sunday morning the A’s travelled to St. Marks and recorded a great 3pt win.
Junior B’s lead Division 9 along with Kilmacud Crokes. The killer B’s worked hard to overcome Erin’s Isle at home on Thur. By 4pts. Conor Kelly and Graham Johnson both had outstanding performances. Next up a difficult away trip to St. Judes on Tue.
Junior C’s lost an exciting and keenly contested Championship replay against Parnells on Thur (1-6,1-8). A late goal sealed the win for Parnells. Donal Nolan gave a master performance at full back, as did Donal Redmond beside him and Conor Bates in goal. Overall, a valiant effort from all the players.
On Sunday afternoon, the C’s notched their 1st league win, with a fine display against Naomh Barrog (4-19,1-2). Wind assisted, Clontarf led (1-10,1-1) at the break. Ray Hanley made a inspiration comeback, while veteran Willie O’Connor hit a magnificent 2-7, surpassing Jimmy Keaveneys record of 2-6 in the ’77 All Ireland. Minors Ciaran Johnson and Nicholas O’Brien (Adult debut) also had terrific games.
Adult Hurling – play league on Tue at home against O’Dwyers.
Minors – No action this week.
Under 16 – Footballers beat good counsel 3-18,0-12.
Under 15 – Football, A team continued on winning ways, with a great 1 pt victory away to Erins Isle in the league. Best were Jack McCaffrey, who scored an outstanding goal. Also Niall Dunleavy, Joe O’Grady, Ross O’Hanlon. The whole team played superby against the wind in the 2nd half to win 2-7,2-6.
Under 14 – A team football match was conceded to Castleknock on Sat, due to the lack of numbers.
U14 B football team played St. Sylvesters B on Friday Night and we lost. The score was
St. Sylvesters 7-11 Cluain Tarbh 2-5. We let in two early goals due to slack marking. After that it was an improved performance. We hit the cross bar twice! Man of the match was Jack Clayton and a good performance from Paddy Cullen. Thanks to Cian Manley and Sean Brody from the U-13 Team. Their presence allowed us to sub the U-14 players who were not performing and when we put those players back on they improved greatly.
Under 13 – A football team were back to winning ways with a win over Fingallians (7-13,4-08). With a number of injuries, several of the B squad stepped up to the plate. SeamusWeldon, Bernard Sweeney, Aaron Connolly and Sean McCullagh. Also a welcome return for Sean McGovern, back after a 2 month layoff with injury.
B team were well beaten by division leaders St. Peregrines. Thanks to the U12’s (Conor and Fiachra) who helped out.
U13 Hurlers played St.Sylvesters away on Tuesday evening, 20th May. The team, despite a brave defence, were subjected to a heavy defeat. Sylvesters had good mid-fielders and strong defence. We were missing a small number of key players but at this level that is all it takes.
Under 12 – Football, A team were beaten well by St. Vincents on Sat. B team suffered a narrow defeat to O’Dwyers (2-4,2-6). B’s were 2 goals down in the 2nd half, but fought back well and were unlucky to run out of time. C’s play their match this week.
Under 11 – had a 3rd win in a row in Div 1, with a fine team performance against Castleknock and a hat trick of goals from James Foxe.
Under 10 – No info
Under 9 – Clontarf 1 gave a spirited effort with great displays by Darragh Devilly and Mark Quinn. Clontarf 2 suffered a narrow defeat to Erins Isle. Great effort put in by Fionn Delaney and Andrew Hyland.

Ladies Intermediate – recorded a great win in the Championship over Man O’War (5-8,2-5). Best were Finnoula Kennedy, Carrie O’Connor and Caroline O’Connell.
Ladies Junior – No game last week as Ballyboughal were unable to field. Home game this week V St. James Gael.
U16 Girls. – had a great win over Ballinteer SJ (3-8,3-7). Super performances from all the players.
U14 Girls – No info
U13 Girls – had an excellent win over St. Annes (9-11,1-4). Another fine team display by all the girls.
U12 Girls – No info
U11 Girls – Playing Tue night at 7pm on pitch 30.
U10 Girls – A team lost to a strong Castleknock side, but put up a great display.
Camogie – No info

Forecast Competition – Yet another upset with most punters backing Monaghan. Now only 1 person (Jimmy Curran) has the max 36pts after 3 rounds of the Championship.
