Bill Ronayne was a member of Clontarf GAA for over fourty years. He became involved in the club in the late 1960's ,through his son James then a young pupil in Belgrove. Bill was mentor to one of the most successful juvenile teams that the club ever produced. With Bill as part of the management team, many of that team formed the backbone of the Senior team that led Clontarf to their only county final appearance in Croke Park in 1985. He was also part of the management of the Dublin minor team that won an All Ireland in 1984. With Bill on the sideline there was never a dull moment, so much so that he was well known by all the referres of the time!. Bill also served on the executive of the club for many years including a term as Chairman. In 2007, Bill was honoured by the club, for all work and dedication, when he became the first recepient of our Hall of Fame award
