Nótaí Chlub na Seachtaine Nollag 12 2016

Well done to our Faoi21 hurlers who won their first game in the grade for the club on Monday night beating Na Fianna under lights on Alfie Byrne Road in the Q/F replay. They followed up by beating Naomh Jude on Saturday 2-17:1-16 after extra time. They'll face Thomas Davis in the B Final.

Hard luck to our Minor peiladóirí who battled but lost out by a point to Naas after extra time in the Leinster Tournament Final in Éire Óg Carlow on Friday night.

An Naíolann our nursery is on a break now and will resume on January 14th. A well deserved lie in for the mentors and we hope Daidí na Nollag will be good to all the buachaillí & cailíní. We hope helmets, camáns and footballs are top of the list!

Thanks to all the mentors who came down to Cúldoras on Friday to give our departing GPO Stephen Behan a nice sendoff. We wish Stephen all the best in academia in the next few years and it has been an absolute pleasure having him involved in the club.

Well done to the Faoi10 buachaillí & mentors who scaled the heights of Páirc an Chrócaigh taking in the skyline walk on their tour on Saturday.

Usual opening of Tuesday & Thursday 7-8pm this week and next with additional opening on Wednesday 14th 7-8pm, Saturday 17th 9.30-11.30am and Wednesday 21st 9-11am. Android Pay as well as card payments are accepted and we may have been the first GAA club in the country to accept an Android Pay payment last Thursday. Club car stickers which are also great for childrens bedrooms are still available, €3 each or 2 for €5.

Our Minor Peiladóirí have continued their run in the Leinster Club Championship organised by Éire Óg Carlow winning the S/F vs Shamrock Gaels of Longford. They will face Naas in the Final in Carlow this Friday.

Our Faoi21 peiladóirí won away to Naomh Jude in the B Championship on Saturday.

We would like to pass on our condolences to the McHugh clann on the recent death of Frank a former Cathaoirleach of the club.

Mentors pre-Christmas get together this Friday from 9.30pm in Cúldoras.

Foireann na seachtaine are our Senior Peiladóirí who secured AFL1 status for the first time in 18 years after a 4-10:0-11 win over Round Towers on P35 on Sunday. GRMA to the large crowd who came out to support.

Comhghairdeas to our Minor Bs who ensured a Championship double for Cluain Tarbh winning the MFCE final v St.Catherines on Sunday morning on a scoreline of 2-11 : 1-07.

Our Minor As defeated the Offaly minor champions St.Broughans in Éire Óg Ceatharlach 5-8 : 2-6. They will face the Longford champions in the Leinster S/F.

Our Faoi21 hurlers played out a thrilling draw after extra time in the B championship against Na Fianna on Saturday. Aaron Casey pointing a long range free to equalise on a score of 1-18 : 0-21. The replay is eagerly awaited.

The club were delighted to accept the award for Adult Hurling Club of the Year at the Friends of Dublin Hurling award night on Friday. This is a fantastic honour in a tremendous year for hurling in the club after 2 adult county championships.

Foireann na seachtaine are our Minor A peiladóirí. 6 points down at the break they held Na Fianna scoreless sa dara leath and got two crucial cúl's to win 2-5:0-9.

Well done to our Faoi10 buachaillí who had good wins over St.Pats Donabate and our Faoi9 buachaillí who battled against our neighbours Raheny.

Please support our Seniors in AFL2 playoff against St.Annes at 8pm on P35.

Our Faoi21 hurlers host Na Fianna at 2pm next Saturday in B Championship.

Hopefully our Minor Bs will complete a championship double as they take on St.Catherines in O'Toole Park at 11am next Sunday.

Comhghairdeas to Caoimhe O'Connor who received the TG4 Leinster Peil na mBan Young Player of the Year in Citywest on Saturday.

Well done to our buachaillí & cailíní who were in action in Croke Park in Cumann na mBunscol Finals for Belgrove last Wednesday.

Faoi16 buachaillí had a good win away to Clanna Gael and play St.Pats Donabate in League Final next. Faoi13 buachaillí had two good away wins with As winning promotion to Roinn 1 for 2017. 3 out of 3 for Faoi10 buachaillí on a beautiful autumnal morning in Whitehall. Good wins for Faoi9 buachaillí against Brigids and O'Dwyers.

We wish Caoimhe Hoy a speedy recovery from her broken arm sustained in a good friendly win for Faoi13 cailíní vs Naomh Jude.

Comhghairdeas to our Inter Peil na mBan team who who won Roinn 2 and gained promotion to Roinn 1 with a 2-15:2-12 win away to Clanna Gael Fontenoy last Wednesday.

Well done to our Faoi16 buachaillí who lifted the C Hurling Championship with a 4-20:0-06 win over Naomh Olaf on Saturday.

Strong second half showing by Minor A buachaillí to defeat Ballyboden 0-10 to 1-6 at home on Sunday.

GRMA to Whitehall Colmcille who hosted and Round Towers Lusk who also provided opposition for our Senior Nursery buachaillí on Saturday.

Well done to all our juvenile girls teams who were in action in Championship and Shield finals over the weekend. Our Faoi13 cailíní won both the Roinn 1 and Roinn 6 Craobh finals.

Please support our Inter Peil na mBan team who travel to Ringsend on Wednesday to take on Clanna Gael at 8pm. If they win they will be crowned Roinn 2 Champions and be promoted to Roinn 1 for 2017.

GRMA to St.Sylvesters who travelled to a wet St.Pauls on Saturday morning as opposition for the first games for our Faoi7 Buachaillí (Senior Nursery). Despite the conditions both clubs put in great performances and almost 120 boys enjoyed the games.

Our Faoi16 hurlers continued their recent good form winning against Faughs. Ádh mór to them in the C Championship Final v Naomh Olaf in Blakestown at 3pm next Saturday. Our Faoi9 buachaillí had two great victories in the rain in Lusk.

Our condolences to the Murray family on the death of Grellan, father of Faoi16 player Gavin and former juvenile player Grellan.

There will be a '25' Card Night fundraiser in aid of St.Francis Hospice in memory of Paul Brownen this Saturday at 8.30pm in Áras Chluain Tarbh. €20 entry.

Our Seniors bowed out of the Championship after a defeat to Naomh Jude on Saturday. Best of luck to Judes in the rest of the SFC.

Good win for our A hurlers away to Lucan Sarsfields in midweek in AHL4. B hurlers also recorded a good win home to Thomas Davis before losing by 5 points to Naomh Jude on Sunday. Both are in the hunt for promotion play off places.

Our Faoi15 buachaillí had a narrow one point defeat against St.Sylvesters in Championship losing 2-9 to 0-14. Our Faoi16 buachaillí had a strong win over St.Pats Donabate to earn a place in the league final.

Foirne na Seachtaine goes to our Faoi13 cailíní who won both their shield semi-finals. Hard luck to our Minor A cailíní who lost out to BSJ in their S/F on Saturday. Well done to Faoi16 hurlers who defeated Round Towers Clondalkin in the C Championship S/F. Our Faoi11 buachaillí hosted Raheny, Castleknock and St.Marys Saggart in a football blitz in St.Pauls on Sunday. Our Faoi10 buachaillí had 3 wins out of 3 against Raheny on DCC on Saturday. Our Minor hurlers bowed out of the championship after a defeat in an entertaining game to Naomh Barróg.

Our Senior Footballers will face Naomh Jude in Páirc Parnell this Saturday at 3pm in the Senior Championship. Please support.

An extremely busy weekend for the club. Comhghairdeas to Kevin Collins and our B hurlers who captured the clubs second county hurling championship this month with victory over Wild Geese in the JHCE final. There were a number of our senior footballers in the panel which is great encouragement for our juvenile players to keep up both codes.

Our Inter Peil na mBan team reached the All-Ireland 7s Intermediate Shield Final in Naomh Mearnóg on Saturday. Two wins for Minor buachaillí in the football championship. As defeated Brigids with a last minute penalty while Bs defeated Naomh Barróg. Faoi16 buachaillí recorded wins in both codes. Well done to Faoi15A buachaillí who won the Roinn 2 Peil league with victory over Clanna Gael. Faoi13B buachaillí had two points to spare in a game that had 12 goals defeating Crokes on P21 on Saturday.

Foireann na Seachtaine goes to our Minor A Peil na mBan team who defeated Parnells by 3 points last Wednesday to reach the S/F of the A Championship.

To show our appreciation for all who bought a raffle ticket for our Football Final tickets we are entering all entrants in another draw this Thursday night for 2 Stand and 2 Hill tickets for the football final replay. Draw will be held in Cúldoras at 10.30pm this Thursday.

Comhghairdeas to our Junior A peiladóirí who defeated St.Vincents 2-9:0-9 away on Sunday to lift the AFL6 league title. Great work from Fergal Lynch and all the team during the year. Thanks to the team sponsor Viking Theatre.

Our Seniors had a two point win away to Kilmacud Crokes to secure 2nd place in AFL2 and a home semi-final in the playoffs.

Strong win for Faoi13 cailíní in Division 1 cup. Good performances from our Faoi10 buachaillí away to Na Fianna and our Faoi15 buachaillí who closed our their hurling season in style with a 5-13:2-5 win over Round Towers on P35 under Friday night lights.

GRMA to all who bought tickets in our All-Ireland Final ticket raffle. Michael Howley and Cormac Hargaden were the lucky names pulled out of the drum. Thanks to Jack McCaffrey & Damien O'Meara who joined us behind the bar in Cúldoras on Saturday night for our pre-All Ireland social.

Nótaí Chlub na Seachtaine Meán Fómhair 12 2016

Sunday was a historic day for Cluain Tarbh hurling as our A hurlers defeated Kilmacud Crokes 1-16:0-9 in the Junior A Championship Final. They secured Intermediate Championship status as Champions and will represent Áth Cliath in the Leinster Junior Club Championship.

While the A final was throwing in our B hurlers turned ends on P35 7 points down against St.Brigids in the JHCE S/F. They put in a big second half to win by 2 points and qualify for another county final. There was a great atmosphere in An Cúldoras on Sunday night and the floor was literally rocking at one stage.

Well done to our Faoi13 buachaillí who retained the shield at the Austin Stacks football tournament in Trá Lí. They lost narrowly to Salthill Knocknacarra the cup holders in a tough first game. They then beat Churchill and John Mitchels from Ciarraí to qualify for a semi final against Ennistymon from An Clár where they continued a good run of form. Oranmore-Maree from Co.na Gaillimhe were the Shield Final opposition and Cluain Tarbh held on to win 3-5:3-4. GRMA to Austin Stacks for their great hospitality over the weekend.

Faoi15 buachaillí qualified for A Football Championship S/F after a good win over Clanna Gael. Faoi16 had a good league win over Craobh Chiaráin. Minor B peiladóirí had a great win out in Castleknock while Minor A played a thriller against St.Sylvesters.

The members draw for All Ireland Final tickets takes place on Friday night in An Cúldoras from 9.15.

The club is running a raffle for 2 stand and 2 Hill tickets for the upcoming All-Ireland Football Final. Raffle will be held on Saturday night during our social 'Wear your County Colours' night in An Cúldoras. All tickets to be returned to Gerry or Kieran before Saturday night.

Foireann na seachtaine are our Faoi16 buachaillí with a win away to Kilmacud in the C hurling championship on Saturday. Good win for our minor hurlers in B championship away to Castleknock. Our Junior A footballers had a strong win over Inisfails and are joint top of AFL6 with one game to go. Senior footballers also won in midweek away to St.Pats Palmerstown.

An Naíolann our nursery was rained off on Saturday but we will be back in St.Pauls on Saturday. This year we are now accepting buachaillí agus cailíní (boys and girls) born in 2012 so please spread the word. Another morning of fun next Saturday at 9.30am.

Well done to the Faoi8 buachaillí away to Whitehall and Faoi11 buachaillí away to Clanna Gael, among others who battled away in conditions better suited to sailing than football on Saturday morning.

This Sunday all roads (or at least Collins Ave) leads to Páirc Parnell as our A hurling team take on Kilmacud Crokes in the Áth Cliath Junior A Championship Final at 3.45pm. They have already qualified for Intermediate Championship in 2017 and we encourage a large crowd to come up from Cluain Tarbh and cheer them onto Championship success.

A great weekend for hurling in the club. On Saturday cheered on by a large crowd our A hurlers defeated Naomh OPER in the JHCA S/F. They will face Kilmacud Crokes in the final on September 11th. They have also secured Intermediate Championship status for the club for the first time.

On Sunday morning our B hurlers had a good win in JHCE Q/F and will have their S/F also on the 11th which promises a great day of hurling for Cluain Tarbh.

Also on the hurling fields our Faoi10 buachaillí had a win and a draw away to Naomh Mearnóg while there were two great performances from our Faoi11 buachaillí in the local derby away to Scoil Uí Chonaill.

Faoi13 buachaillí had 2 from two in peil with As defeating St.Pats Donabate at home and Bs having a great win away to Ballyboden.

Minor A peiladóirí are now top of Roinn 1 after a midweek win home to Brigids and a draw away to Kilmacud Crokes on Sunday morning.

An Naíolann our nursery returned on a beautiful morning in St.Pauls on Saturday. This year we are now accepting buachaillí agus cailíní (boys and girls) born in 2012 so please spread the word. Another morning of fun next Saturday at 9.30am.

Foirne na seachtaine are our mini league teams as the likes of a purple clad Dún na nGall took on Ciarraí in blue on a fantastic morning in St.Pauls at An Naíolann. Don't forget to bring the all important tshirt back next Saturday.
Inter Peil na mBan had a good championship win away to Skerries. They host Clann Mhuire this Wednesday at 7.30pm. Please support. Good win in AFL2 for Seniors over Whitehall.
Minor A ladies lost out by a point in a thrilling match away to Cuala despite scoring a great 6-11.
Strong win in Roinn 1 for our Faoi13 cailíní over BSJ.

Foirne na seachtaine are our Faoi10 buachaillí who hurled with distinction in pretty miserable conditions away to St.Finians in Swords and Naomh Peregrine in Blakestown. 

Well done to our Faoi12 cailíní who represented the club in the Leinster Camogie blitz in Abbotstown winning their group beating teams from An Lú, Cill Mhantáin and Crumlin.
 
Good wins for Faoi12 buachaillí in hurling against Ballyboden and Lucan Sarsfields. Football wins for Faoi13Bs and both Faoi14 teams.
Faoi15As defeated Naomh Mearnóg to reach the next round of the football championship.
 
Super last quarter performance from Minor A peiladoirí to defeat Kilmacud Crokes 0-12:0-10 in Roinn 1. Strong performance from Minor B drawing with O'Dwyers. We wish Sean O'Flaherty & Andy Hyland speedy recovery from injuries.
 
Well done to everyone who made Lá na gClub a fantastic day our for the club and the community. We were blessed with the weather and Gerry 'Healy-Rae' Reid must have been saying his prayers as leaving Corcaigh yesterday morning it was lashing rain. GRMA to all the mentors and volunteers, players and parents who took part. We had a great day on the páirc and a great evening back in Áras Chluain Tarbh. Chairmans selection won the Social GAA game. Our Chairman displaying his tactical nous by picking the 11 players standing nearest him.

Foirne na seachtaine are our minor peiladoirí with two away league wins vs Brigids and Naomh Barróg.
Our adult hurlers opened their championship campaigns with victories over Brigids at home in JHCA and St. Pats Donabate away in JHCE. Two good wins for Faoi15 buachaillí yesterday while Faoi12 buachaillí won their 3 hurling grading games. Good performances from our Faoi11 camogie players away to Kilmacud and well done to our cailíní who are making great strides with camogie in Belgrove Senior Girls School.
Well done to our younger members who made their Communion on Saturday.
Although Áth Cliath lost out in extra time it was a great honour for the club for Paddy Smyth to captain the Minor Hurlers who took on Loch Garman in the LHC QF at the weekend.
Ádh mór to our buachaillí in Féile Peil na nÓg action this weekend. The club are hosting Roinn 2 Grúpa A. Please come out and support. Bs are in action nearby on Springdale Road.

The club was saddened to learn of the death of our mentor colleague Ronan Walsh. Ronan was a mentor with our U9 girls and our thoughts go out to his family and many friends.

Foirne na seachtaine are our Féile cailíní. As qualified for Roinn 2 semi-final where they lost to the division winners FoxCab by 1 point.
Bs hosted Roinn 6 on Saturday and defeated St.Vincents in the final by 0-2:0-1 on Sunday.
Three out of three in league for adult peiladoirí.
Good wins for U13 & U16 hurlers. We wish U13 hurler Jack Dolan a speedy recovery from injury. Well done to U12 buachaillí who claimed Div 1 football status for 2016.
