BEST wishes to Kieran McMahon and the incoming Executive for the coming year following his election as Chairman at last Friday nights AGM. Special thanks to out going Chairman Mick Cronin for all his effort and time over the last two years. Team of the week goes to our U9 Footballers, defeating Naomh Barróg and Cuala in style at the weekend. Squad player award goes to Charlie O'Byrne following a flawless display. Commiserations to our U21 Footballers, losing out to Templeogue SS in The Championship. Hard luck also to our Minor ladies following a narrow defeat to Foxrock Cabinteely in an exciting Championship Final last Saturday in UCD. The club wishes to thank St. Pats for hosting a great U10 football tournament on Sat. Congrats to U10 Hurlers Ruarc Nolan, James and Philip Dalton who are reigning champs following our weekly hurling penalty competition. We are organising a clothes, books, old phones and lap tops collection fundraiser in The Nursery, St Paul’s College, on Saturday November 30th between 9:30 A.M. and 11:00 A.M. and also in The Clubhouse on Friday night November 29th from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. and on Saturday November 30th from 12:00 - 3:00 P.M. TOTW is our adult hurlers who were beaten by Naomh Fionnbarra by a point in league playoff. Commiserations to our senior footballers who exited the championship beaten by Lucan Sarsfields. Well done to the U21 Hurling who put in a fine performance against Naomh Barrog’s and unfortunately exited the B Championship. U21 Footballers play Templeogue Synge Street away next Saturday 2:30pm and juniors play Civil Service next Sunday away 11am in play off game. Ladies Minors play Foxrock Cabinteely in Div 1A Championship final next Saturday at 11.30am venue tba. The AGM will be held on November 22nd at 8.30pm in the clubhouse. TOTW is our 15 Girls who were beaten by Kilmacud Crokes in the Div 1 Championship Final. Every girl in the squad of 20 gave their all with Zoe Power, Ann Shannon, Roisin Troy, Ciara Cronin, Aoibhe Bell and Caoimhe O'Connor the most impressive Clontarf performers on the day. Congratulations to our U15 Boys who defeated Ballyboden in the “A” Shield Hurling Final. Well done to the U21 Footballers who progress to the next round of the Championship. Congratulations to Jack McCaffrey on winning the Young Footballer of the Year Award. Christmas gifts sale this Thursday 14th and Friday 15th in clubhouse from 6.30 to 9.30 with music on Friday from 9pm with No Strings attached. SAM visits the Nursery next Saturday 16th. TOTW is our 15A Boys who beat St. Brigids in the A Championship Final by 2 points in Parnell Park, well done to all the team. Congratulations to our U15B Boys who defeated Castleknock in the final of the D championship, with seven scorers on the card it was a sign of the commitment of the players. Well done to Kieran Koyne for his man of the match award. Other great performances for Clontarf from Oisin O’Donnaghue, Brian Dufficy, Donal O’Dwyer, Cathal Ryan, Rory Goode and Dylan Callum. Congratulations to our U16 Girls who beat Naomh Barrog 7-2 to 3-10 in the Division 3 Shield Final, some superb performances were noted, Sarah Coy for her blocking, Sophie Farrelly for her constant efforts, Roisin Troy for her determination, but MOTM has to go to Grainne Tummon, she had a brilliant match in both attack and defence. Congratulations and good luck to the Belgrove Senior Girls' team on reaching the final of the Corn Austin Finn , they are playing in Croke Park this Tuesday 5th Nov at 12.10pm . Go n-eiri leo! TOTW is our 15B Girls who beat Man O War in The Championship Final. MOTM was Ellen Doyle, with the most improved performance over the season going to Ailbhe Reid. Big thanks to U14’s for all their support and to all who supported on the sideline to make the night very special for all playing. After a tough league the girls are finishing the season on a high. Commiserations to our U14B Boys who were narrowly beaten in League Final against Stars of Erin by 3-08 to 2-10. Stand out performers included captain Josh Carton, Mark Quinn, Darragh Devilly and Darragh Vickers. Thanks to all of the parents who came out to support the team. Our U15's play in the Championship Finals this Sunday 3rd November. A's play St. Brigids in The Division 1 County Final in Parnell Park at 1.00 P.M. and B’s play Castleknock in The D Championship in Blakestown at 10.00 A.M. Please support the teams. Clubnotes October 21st, 2013

Champions! We had loads of action this weekend with exceptional results. TOTW is our outstanding Adult Hurlers, winning the Junior B County Championship at the expense of near neighbours Scoil Uí Chonaill. Commiserations to Scoil who played their part in what was a truly epic final. What a second half performance we put in, reeling in a five point deficit at half time to run out winners by seven points. MOTM goes to Eoin Cronin, putting in a brilliant second half performance with a goal and some brilliant points and assists to kill off the opposition. Congrats to Mick Keane and his management team. Our U15 Footballers had a fantastic weekend, reaching both championship finals. The A's had a magnificent Division1 victory over Na Fianna, while the B's accounted for Lucan in The Division D Championship. The A's MOTM goes to Neil O'Hanlon (what a keeper), while The B's saw great displays from Gavin Jackson, Brian Dufficy, Donal O’Dwyer, Jack McGuirk and Rory Goode. Both finals are in two weeks time. Our U14B Footballers also recorded a magnificent win over Cuala, reaching the league final in impressive style. Mark Quinn was the stand out player. Our U13 Footballers had an enjoyable win over Lucan. Our U12 Footballers also recorded great victories over Crokes and Whitehall. Our U10's also enjoyed wins over Maurs, Craobh Chiaráin and Pats. Our U9's also enjoyed wins against O'Tooles and Raheny. Our Senior Footballers play O'Tooles this Wednesday at 7.30 P.M. in The Championship in Blunden Drive, please support. In our ladies section our U14A's unfortunately lost out against Ballyboden on Sunday in the Division 1 semi final, coming up just short on the day. Having said that our U12's enjoyed great victories over Castlenock. Our U15B's play their championship final this Wednesday at 7.30 P.M. on P34 against Man o War - please support. Senior Hurling Final against O'Connell's is this Sunday at 2:15 P.M. in Chanel College, just off the Malahide Road - bring all the juvenile's and support Mick and the boy's in our quest for glory - all support welcome. Team of the week is our Minor Girls, defeating St. Jude's at the weekend to reach The Championship Final. MOTM is awarded to Aoife Manley who put in a storming midfield performance. The team also welcomed back Fiona Terry after a long-term injury. Our U10 Girls had a great group win over Na Fianna, losing 5, drawing 1 and winning 10 out of all 16 games. Our U13B Girls recorded a brilliant victory against St Patrick's Donabate and can all now look forward to a final also. Our U13 Hurlers had a very impressive win at home to Craobh Chiarán with John Hanley scoring an impressive 4-3. Our U12B Hurlers had an equally impressive result, defeating Kilmacud Crokes. Charlie Meehan, Philip Lynch, Andrew Garvey and Max Hession were the standout players. Our U10 Hurlers also recorded a couple of nice wins over Fingallians. Special thanks to The Dub trio of David 'Dotsy' O'Callaghan, Joey Boland, Gary Maguire and our GPO Stephen Behan for organising Friday evening's hurling clinic up on P34, which was very well attended. Team of the Week is our U12B Footballers, securing The Division 4 North Title on Saturday following a brilliant victory over local rivals Na Fianna. MOTM goes to the entire defense, consisting of Tom Connolly, Kevin Bohan, Ciaran Connolly, Charlie Meehan, Ronan Reid and Philip Lynch. Our U12A's also put in a great shift, ending St. Vincent's unbeaten run in Division 1. Our U15 Footballers also signed off their Division 1 league campaign with a home victory over Kilmacud Crokes, in what was a great display. Our U10's recorded a great win away to Erin go Bragh and our U9 Footballers also recorded great wins against Skerries Harps and Na Fianna. In our Ladies section the U15B's had a great victory over Foxrock Cabinteely to reach their first championship final. The club has arranged a top class hurling workshop on P34 and P35 this Friday 11th October at 7 P.M. GPO Stephen Behan will co-ordinate the session in conjunction with three Dublin Senior Hurlers, Joey Boland, Gary Maguire, and Johnny McCaffrey. This session is for all age groups so all mentors are requested to attend. Juvenile Memberships are now overdue and parents can pay any club official or mentor. Team of the Week is our U11 Hurlers, just losing out in the semi final of a shield blitz by a single point to Lucan at the weekend. The award for Clontarf player of the tournament goes jointly to Alex Byrne and Andrew Garvey. Special thanks to Templeogue Synge Street for organising the event. Our U14 Hurlers put in a fantastic shift against local rivals Raheny in Division 2 on Saturday just coming up short in a very high scoring game, with Declan Adamson scoring an incredible four goals from play. Similarly our U13 Hurlers were unlucky to lose out by a single score against Sylvester's. Our Senior Footballers drew away to Vincent's in the league and play in the Senior Football Championship next Saturday against O'Tooles on P35 at 5 P.M. Please support the team. The club congratulates Clare on their Senior Hurling All Ireland success at the weekend. Juvenile Memberships are now due. Parents can pay any club official or mentor. Congrats to our Team of the Week, The Magnificent Dubs and our own Jack McCaffrey on a brilliant All Ireland win over Mayo on Sunday, making it two titles in three years. Well done also to Mick Bohan who was part of the coaching set up this year. Many thanks to all that organised the post match celebrations up in the club. Congratulations to Willie lillis and Ciarán Doran who both share the prize for our Fly The Flag competition. Our Adult Division 5 hurlers beat Ballyboden away in the league in what was a very tough battle. The U15 Footballers had a super win away to Lucan in The Division 1 Championship Q/Final. Our U12 Footballers also had fantastic wins over Naomh Mearnóg and O'Tooles. The U10 Shark and Bear Footballers also enjoyed great victories over Fingallians. Our U9 footballers had super wins over Donabate and Fingal Ravens. The U10 Girls also recorded a great win at home to Kilmacud Crokes. TEAM of the week is our U15 Girls, defeating Ballyboden to maintain their challenge for Division 1 honours. Our U15 Hurlers also had a great Division 1 Shield Semi Final win over Faugh's in St Paul's on Sunday. Our U13 Hurlers also defeated Faugh's away to maintain Division 3 status. Our U13 Girls had a great win over Clann Mhuire in their championship group to reach the semi final. Our U10 Girls also recorded great wins over Castleknock. Now for The Dubs. Paid up Full Members as at 1/9/2013 - Orders for All Ireland Tickets to Kieran McMahon by 9pm Tuesday 17th September. Draw for members tickets to take place on Friday 20th September at 9.30pm in the Clubhouse. We are also running an All Ireland ticket raffle in aid of the development of our juvenile section. Tickets cost only €10 and are available from club mentors and also in the club bar. You can also contact Kieran McMahon for raffle tickets on 0861791120. This draw takes place at 10.00 P.M. on Saturday in the clubhouse and winners will be notified by phone post the result. Beidh ceol, craic agus bia finger ar an oíche. SQUAD of the week goes to our U15 Footballers, winning in The Championship. The A's defeated Kilmacud away while The B's also won away against Na Fianna. Player of the week goes to Jack McGuirk following a brilliant display of fielding on Saturday against Na Fianna. Our U15 Girls also defeated Cuala in the opening round of The Div1 Championship at the weekend. our U11 Boys won all three games against Na Fianna and our U10 Girls were victorious over Ballinteer. Our U13 Boys recorded a great away win against Plunketts in the league while our U14 Girls also enjoyed victory away to Fingallians in Div1. Our Intermediate Ladies recorded a great victory in the league away to Garda. Our Faoi10 Buachaillí enjoyed great performances over both Brigid's and Plunketts. TOTW goes to our magnificent Dubs following a breathtaking last minute win in The All Ireland Semi Final over Kerry. Thanks to all involved in organising the après match BBQ in The Club. A great win was recorded by our U14B footballers away to Stars of Erin. Our U11/10/9 hurlers also recorded great victories. Our U13 girls had a great win away over Binn Éadair while our U9 girls enjoyed fantastic wins over local rivals St Vincent’s. The Nursery has started up again and is on in St Paul's every Saturday at 9:30 A.M. If your kid is not registered just call up on the day and we will look after all the details. TOTW goes to our adult hurlers, defeating St. Maurs by 2 points in a terrific championship semi final on P35 last Sunday. It was end to end stuff against a very talented Maurs team. Well done all the lads. We play Scoil in the final on a date to be announced. A great win was also recorded by our U16 footballers in what was their first match since winning The Championship at the end of May. Commiserations to our U15 hurlers whom, despite leading at half time v Kilmacud, fell away in the 2nd half to bow out of The Div 1 Championship. Many thanks to all that helped Donal Nolan with the goalmouth repairs on P34 last Friday. Best wishes to the Dubs next Sunday v Kerry in The All Ireland Semi Final. Tickets for the game must be collected and paid for this Friday 30th in the clubhouse from 9:00 to 10:30pm. There is a BBQ après match back in The Club from 6-8 P.M. with the astro open for the kids - bring your friends and enjoy the craic. Team of the week must be our U15 Footballers following a great win over Ballyboden in Division 1 on Sunday morning. Man of the match goes to Rory Clarke, scoring an amazing 4-2 from play. The Dub Hurlers were unbelievable on Sunday winning Leinster in style with victory over Galway. What a way to fill a gap that goes back to 1961. It is truly amazing that in that very same year Joe O'Connor, who passed away recently, captained Clontarf's first ever hurling team. He must have been watching. TOTW is our Junior B Hurlers, defeating Na Gaeil Óga in the league. Matt O'Neill gets the MOTM award, with Chris Geoghegan and Jack Loftus also impressing. TOTW goes to our U8 girls, fielding a camogie team for the 1st time ever on Sat. Adult Hurlers opened the league campaign with a good draw away to Maurs. A Great win by our U15 Div1 hurlers over Faugh's at weekend. Great performances recorded by our U14/U13 hurlers and our U12/U10/U9 footballers. Our U16/U12 girls also had great wins. Well done The Dub Hurlers, defeating Limerick to regain Div1 status. Congrats to Sarah McCaffrey, making debut with Dublin Senior ladies recently. Anniversary of the march is next month.
